Nintendojust revealed that two classic Game Boy Advance games are dropping on theNintendo Switchthis weekend, both of which are free of charge for Nintendo Switch Online members.
And fans of Nintendo franchises that barely get any love may want to sit down for this one because they’re both F-Zerogames.
As announced viaNintendo of America’s official Twitter page, bothF-ZERO CLIMAXandF-Zero: GP Legendare landing on the Nintendo Switch this weekend.

F1 fans will undoubtably be thrilled that they’ve got something to fill their high-octane holes this weekend. Oh and I guessF-Zerofans will be happy too.
F-Zero: GP Legendoriginally released back in 2003 in Japan for the GBA, and would later receive a North American release in the following year.
F-ZERO CLIMAXis the one that’s probably going to get F-Zero fans the most pumped however, as this one never actually saw an official release outside of Japan.
Pokémon Legends Z-Alaunches next year, and is believed to be a Switch 2 launch title.
AlthoughF-ZERO CLIMAXwas re-released on the Japanese Wii U Virtual Console in 2015, an English translation of the game never saw the light of day until 2021.

That translation effort was a fan-made affair however, so its re-release on the Nintendo Switch actually marks the first time the game has received an official English translation.
Before the release ofF-Zero 99, fans of the series had been begging Nintendo to revisit it. Most assumed they’d never see another release in the franchise again.
But the release ofF-Zero 99, and the re-release of bothF-ZERO CLIMAXandF-Zero: GP Legend, implies that maybe Nintendo isn’t done with the series altogether. Perhaps this signifies that a brand new entry could be closer than we all thought.
