Nintendo Switch 2 release date leaked early

Nintendo is finally preparing to launch its successor to the hugely successful Nintendo Switch.

It was back in May that the existence of the new consolewas first acknowledged.

How? Well, in trueNintendofashion, they took to Twitter at 7.49AM on a random Tuesday.

“This is Furukawa, President of Nintendo. We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year,” it read.

“It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence ofNintendo Switchback in March 2015.”

If you’re not aware, fiscal years run from April which means that the Nintendo Switch 2, or whatever it’s actually revealed to be called, should be announced before April of 2025.

Five months have passed since Furukawa’s announcement, but we’re yet to get anything in the way of a reveal just yet.

There have been several false alarms - including ‘leaked’ prototypes - but certainly nothing concrete.

And now yet another unconfirmed tease has arrived, just to fuel our hype further.

Pokémon Legends Z-Awill presumably launch on both the Nintendo Switch and its successor. Take a look at the game in action below.

Ruben Mercado is the CEO of Blade, and recently appeared on the podcast of Spanish media site Vandal.

During theinterview, Mercado referred to the Nintendo Switch’s successor as “done” and “ready”, adding that his accessories company had preview access to near final versions of the new console.

Mercado went on to state that the console will launch in either March or April of next year, which implies that a reveal will come much sooner.

Of course, I urge you to take this with a giant pinch of salt.

If Mercado is telling the truth, I can’t imagine Nintendo will be thrilled with him, and if this is all a lie, well, we need to prepare ourselves for that eventuality too.
