That is why I was disappointed to learn that I could not customise myNintendoSwitch digital profile the same way we could back in the days of the Nintendo 3DS.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom as Nintendo have been regularly releasing free downloads which consist of icons and backgrounds that celebrate our favourite games and characters.
This time, fans of all thingsSuper Mariocan get their hands on20+ iconsbut don’t hang around, as they disappear on 14 October.
The icons feature characters such as Toad, Princess Peach, Luigi and of course Mario himself alongside some other familiar faces.

Each cost 10 Platinum Coins but don’t worry as these are one of two free currencies courtesy of Nintendo so there is no doubt that you have some saved up.
To access the icons, simply head to the Nintendo Switch Online tab on the handheld’s home screen.
Nintendo regularly cycles through icons celebrating different famous games so don’t worry if you miss out this time.
