
In recent years, Nintendo has made an effort to reintroduce some classic titles to the Nintendo Switch and fans are over the moon that the trend is continuing with this exciting return.
First released way back in 2004 for the GameCube,Metroid Prime 2: Echoesis the sequel to 2002’sMetroid Primeand the first in the series to introduce multiplayer.

The story follows bounty hunter Samus Aran after she is sent on a rescue mission to retrieve the Galactic Federation Marines from a ship near Aether.

With the inclusion of Space Pirates and even a mysterious doppelgänger of Samus herself, the bounty hunter must fight in order to rescue the marines and save herself.
Upon its release twenty-years ago,Metroid Prime 2went on to win multiple game industry awards and is regularly featured in the “topNintendogames”.
That is why it is perhaps no surprise thatMetroid Prime 2will soon receive a remaster for theNintendo Switchin early 2025.

In a reply to the announcement of theMetroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective art book,the insider had thefollowingto say:
“About[Metroid 2] Remastered, I can confirm what Grubb mentioned, it was planned as a stand alone release but got moved a couple of times and now is planned for early next year, likely betweenDKCRHDandXenoblade X…
Personally I wouldn’t rule out an announcement of them atTGA, as timing would fit, but I have no information on that.”

As you can imagine, the news soon travelled and was recently discussed over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours.
“I hope this ends up being true and that they’re also remasteringPrime 3. I’ve never played any of the Metroid Prime games, and would love to be able to play all of them on one console.Prime 4does look like it’s going to be really good,” onecommentread.
Another said: “I have been dying to replayPrime 2all year for its 20th anniversary but held off for the potential remaster. Really hope my wait is worth it (if this is true).”
Although this is still just a rumour, what we do know is that we can expectMetroid Prime 4: Beyondin the new year so it is an exciting time nonetheless.
