Nintendo Switch users given bizarre official warning you should probably heed

When you hear thatNintendohas issued a public service announcement regarding theNintendo Switch, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?

Because if your answer to that question is, “Surely they’ve made an official statement warning you not to let your dog pee on your video game console,” then congratulations, you’re just as weird as Nintendo you freak.

Thanks toSarah Fields over at GameRantfor spotting this one, because I didn’t have any urine-related topics to write about today until they did so.

In a tweet from theofficial @nintendo_cs account, Nintendo felt it appropriate to warn everyone regarding the potential pitfalls of owning both a Nintendo Switch and a pet capable of producing bodily fluids.

Now to be fair, things start off relatively normal.

It’s the second half that’s got people a little taken aback.

Nintendo Switch fans havePokémon Legends Z-Ato look forward to next year.

“Pet saliva and urine can cause the device to malfunction due to water exposure,” they, for some reason, continue, “If you have pets, be careful about where you place your Switch.”

So there you have it. Don’t let your dog or cat (or any mammal for that matter) wee on your video game console. I’m hoping you didn’t need to be told that before Nintendo warned you however.

Well, your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they’ve had an uptick in pee-related repair requests lately and the folks at Nintendo HQ are getting sick of it.

Alternatively, perhaps this is implying that both the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 consoles are wizz-resistant. I will endeavour to contact both Microsoft and Sony to find out more.
