OG God Of War gets stunning Unreal Engine 5 remake

With the first entry in the God of War series being released way back in 2005, the original hack-and-slash titles are in desperate need of a series of remakes.

However, withSanta Monica Studioseemingly not interested in this right now, it is down toGod of War’soriginal fans to bring the game into the 21st century and that is what one creator has managed.

In avideospanning just over 10 minutes, the creator shows us how exactly he achieved this massive feat. This includes showing us how he updated Kratos’ look in Unreal Engine 5 as well as how he used inspiration from 2018’sGod of Warto update camera angles and animations.

As well as sharing his production experiences, EnzoElRich also shares the first few minutes of the game through an updated engine and spoiler alert, it looks great.

From Kratos’ updated look to even a snippet of some combat, it is evident that this is a major improvement on the original 2005 title.

Unfortunately, this is just a passion project and will not be released to the public. However, it goes to show that Santa Monica Studio has some fans calling out for that original remake.

Another agreed, saying: “If you achieved this in just three weeks… I don’t want to imagine five or 10 years of development, very fascinating, excellent work.”
