Following months of rumours and alleged leaks, in July this year, Capcom announced that it is working on anew entry in the Resident Evil series. This perhaps threw water over the flames that the next game would be a remake.

That’s not to say that Capcom won’t be releasing a remake anytime soon with popular entries such asResident Evil Code: VeronicaandResident Evil Outbreakbeing just two of the leading contenders, with perhapsResident Evil 5waiting in the wings.

There were reports that the originalResident Evilcould also begetting a new remakeand while we’ve not had any indication from Capcom that those rumours are true, talented indie developers and modders have taken matters into their own hands, giving us an itchy tasty of what we might be able to expect.
