OG Resident Evil gets jaw-dropping Unreal Engine 5 remake you can check out now

While not being the originator of the survival horror subgenre, the Resident Evil series certainly helped put it on the map inspiring the likes of Silent Hill, Dead Space and more.

The first game in this survival horror series to be released wasResident Evilwhich initially launched in 1996 and cemented itself as an all-time great, and meant thatCapcomhad another hit on its hands alongside Mega Man and Street Fighter. From that moment on, the Resident Evil series has grown bigger and arguably better with almost every release.

In 2002, theNintendoGameCube received a full remake of the originalResident Evil, a game that to this very day, still looks and plays wonderfully. This remake has also been remastered several times being re-released in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox One eras.
