The first Tomb Raider game for the PlayStation 1 has been given a huge boost in graphical fidelity thanks to an RTX mod.
While the controls have aged horribly over the years, the firstTomb Raidergames are still a lot of fun and worth checking out if you’re interested in seeing some of Lara Croft’s first adventures.

The collection isset to launch in February, though in the meantime fans will want to check out this gorgeous mod for the first Tomb Raider game onPC.
The modder has documented their journey so far with a few videos, as well as several in-game screenshots showing what they’ve been working on, and it looks magnificent so far. In terms of the graphics the OG Tomb Raider games never looked terrible, though it’s safe to sayPlayStation1 games don’t tend to age gracefully.

Honestly, the worst part is this isn’t what the official remasters will look like, as fans will have to make do with some partial changes to the look of the game, and the aforementioned tweaks to the controls. That being said it’s better than nothing, I’m just happy the OG games are making a comeback on modern platforms.
