
The PS2 was home to several amazing franchises and gave birth to classics that we still look to today. When you reel off some of the best games, you can clearly see what a powerhouse it was -GTA San Andreas, ICO, Bully, Final Fantasy X, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Kingdom Hearts, Timesplitters 2- the list keeps going.

Another user mentions they had to buy a network adapter for their console because back then it wasn’t a standard. Not until the slim console launched anyway. This anniversary allows us to celebrate the console and how it led us forward, particularly when it came to establishing a series. However, PS2 wasn’t just a great console because of the names it set up, but also because it was a place to experiment with ‘out of the box’ ideas. It’s up there with the Xbox 360 as an industry defining console that revolutionised what we thought video games could do.
