Due toMicrosoft now owning Bethesda’s parent company, ZeniMax Media,Starfieldis an Xbox console exclusive, as well as it coming to PC. Microsoft will be pinning a lot of hopes onStarfield, especially as its latest console has struggled with a consistent supply of quality first-party exclusives. That being said,Starfieldhas already contributed to some gamers buying an Xbox Series X|S for thesole-purpose of playing the sci-fi RPG.

In contrast, PlayStation hasn’t struggled with a quality stream of exclusives, but in terms of the RPG genre, the PS5 arguably has nothing that is truly comparable to the likes ofStarfieldor does it?

We know thatBaldur’s Gate IIIis coming to Xbox Series X|S at some point. However, due to thetechnical limitations of the Series S, Larian Studios hasdelayed the Xbox versionwith no solid release date in sight until it finds a resolution. Until that resolve is found, Sony may have accidentally claimed itself a time-exclusive that may go toe-to-toe withStarfield, especially asBaldur’s Gate IIIshares the same release date as the Bethesda title.

Baldur’s Gate IIIis out now on PC and comes to PlayStation 5 on 6 September 2023. An Xbox Series X|S release date is yet to be announced.
