It seems PlayStation is finally bringing us a feature that many have been begging for since the launch of the PlayStation 5.

According to YouTuber,Mystic, Sony is finally giving us new PlayStation 2 games to play and they’re arriving with a wealth of features we usually see on emulators.

GAMINGbible can heartily recommend Stellar Blade as a recent PS5 game worth checking out

Mystic reports that Disney’sStar Wars The Clone Warsfor PS2 will be coming soon to the PlayStation 4 andPlayStation 5storefronts. Well, no big deal, so far. Unless you’re a huge Star Wars fan.

What this allows is much more control over the game you’re playing, plus it will look better than ever.

The rewind feature is something that many players love as it allows you to literally rewind the actions you just took in-game and replay that section without relying on save files.

However, with the addition of save states, you’ll be able to save where the game wouldn’t usually let you, such as in games with fixed save points like Final Fantasy and Resident Evil.

Of course, this has opened the floodgateson Redditwith people begging for their favourite games to be released. Games like;Sly Cooper, SOCOM, Max Payne, The Warriors, andMaximo.

This is a great opportunity forSonyto embrace backwards compatibility in a new way, through legal emulation. There are hundreds of games from the PS2 era that became staples in the industry and set apart that console as one of the best of all-time.

Here’s hoping we see more announcements made and this becomes a fully-fledged feature rather than a throwaway addition.
