PlayStation 5 gamers surprised with 9/10 free game you could grab now

It’s the follow-up to 2013’s, you guessed it,Risk of Rainand while it may not have achieved the same level of success as some of the aforementioned titles,Risk of Rain 2is still a very respectable, well-crafted sequel.

Don’t just take my word for it. The game garnered a score of 85 over on Metacritic and has a rating of 96% on Steam.

Well, if you’re a fan of the title, a free little treat may have just landed.

Four years on, a new-genPlayStation 5version of the game is now ready and those who already ownRisk of Rain 2on PlayStation 4 can nab it for free.

PlayStation 4 owners of the game should be able to see a prompt asking if they want to download the new PlayStation 5 version free of charge.

What’s the benefit of doing so, I hear you ask?

Risk of Rain 2’s PlayStation 5 version introduces a number of new features including split-screen local multiplayer.

The frame rate has been boosted to 60fps and you can now enjoy 4K resolution.

Additional trophies have been added and, of course, there’s new DualSense controller feedback.

The port is available for all to purchase for $24.99. I have to say, I’m tempted.
