A prequel to the originalShovel Knight, this second instalment sees players control the titular protagonist as they fight off foes and attempt to recover Shovel Knight’s stolen treasure bag.

The game garnered a very respectable score of 81 over on Metacritic, so don’t just take my word for it when I say the game is good.

Rather excitingly,Shovel Dig Knightwill soon become playable for even more people as it’s set to launch on bothPlayStation5 andXboxSeries X/S.

ICYMI:Astro Botis set to land on PlayStation 5 on 6 September.

These two ports don’t have a launch date just yet, nor do we have pricing confirmed but you should expect the game to set you back around £20 based on the Switch and Steam versions.

If you do choose to purchase the game, Yacht Club Games has unveiled that alongside the launch of the ports, the studio will be releasing a massive new free expansion titledWicked Wishes.

Wicked Wisheswill be available across all platforms later this summer and, as I said, it’ll be totally free.

This is set to be the game’s final big free update.

“The new downloadable content begins in Hoofman’s Guild Hall - a secret hideout where elite quest-seekers and their illustrious patrons converge,” begins the update’s description.

That’s captured my attention.

Alongside the new content, the update also includes over 100 bug fixes, tweaks, and localisation improvements.

We’ll keep an eye out for that coveted release date.
