The latest PlayStation 5 software update is rolling out globally today - and it’s chock-full with a ton of new features.
It’s already shaping up to be a busy day for PlayStation. Later on, we’ll find out the latest additions toPlayStation Plus’ extra and premium tier catalogues. Many of the titleshave already leakedand to say that the line-up is underwhelming is an understatement.Fans are certainly not happygiven the recent price rise. There are also rumours of an upcoming State of Play, but those are yet to be proven true. What PlayStation has announced though is the rolling out of a brand newPS5console software update, and there are so many new features for us to dive into.

Theupdateintroduces PS Remote Play support for additional Android devices, namely those running Android TV OS 12. So far, the Chromecast with Google TV (4K model) and BRAVIA XR A95L model are confirmed devices. Additionally, PS5 users in the US and UK can now experiment with new voice command options, such as saying, ‘Hey PlayStation help’, to bring up all help options.

The biggest update of all though? Yes, we can all now turn off the PS5 start up beep. Rounding us out, later this month, the PlayStation app will be updated, allowing users to react with emojis to messages and preview someone’s share screen before joining a party.
