We all remember being two seconds away from making a summoning circle just so we could get our hands on the PlayStation 5 back in 2020. Now according to recent rumours, the console is already coming to the end of its lifespan.

This is according to its third quarter earnings report which also stated that Sony is now expecting to hit 21 million sales rather than the expected 25 million despite a year of big exclusive releases such asMarvel’s Spider-Man 2and the arrival of thePlayStation5 Slim in November 2023.

This news also comes after Sony revealed it wouldnot be releasing“any new major existing franchise titles” during its next fiscal year but this does mean we may see some smaller titles making an appearance.
Regardless of what happens next, fans still agree that the PlayStation 5 is getting replaced way too soon. Many players took to r/technology to share their thoughts with onesaying, “It feels like it’s still brand new, honestly. I feel like it came out a year ago.”
Another agreed, saying, “Latter stage, and 90% of releases are upscaled PS4 games. This gen has been pretty disappointing.”
