The PS5’s DualSense controller is a solid piece of kit that’s comfy to hold for hours at a time, packed with immersive features like adaptive triggers, a speaker and haptic feedback. For some, however, it leaves a little to be desired: extra buttons on the back, Bluetooth headset pairing, protection against stick drift, and the option to set the triggers’ travel.

Along with four programmable buttons the back — that’s two more than the DualSense Edge controller — players can modify the joysticks’ height, their caps, and the travel on each trigger. It also has its own Bluetooth capabilities for connection with wireless headsets, and a special Hall Effect feature that helps to prevent stick drift. For those unfamiliar, stick drift is a common issue with modern controllers where, over time, joysticks degrade and begin to ‘pull’ in a certain direction when it should be neutral.
The Nacon Revolution 5 comes with its own hardshell carry case, all the bits and pieces you’ll need to customise the joysticks and triggers to your preferences, a charging cable, and a Bluetooth USB dongle. It’s also compatible with the PS5, PS4 and PCs.
It’s got a4.2 out of 5 average rating at Argosfrom 38 reviews, with customers seeming pleased with the upgrades over the standard PS5 controller. “I’ve had this controller for three weeks now, I got it because my previous controller got stick drift,” said one five-star review. “I wanted a decent Hall Effect controller and this is so comfortable in the hands. It has excellent customisation and decent default profile settings. If you are looking for a good Hall Effect controller with good build quality, I highly recommend this.”
“It is better than the DualSense Edge,” said another customer. “The DualSense Edge’s new analogue sticks costs £20 a pop and are never in stock. Also the DualSense Edge only has two remappable buttons and the Nacon Revolution Pro 5 has four.” Another simply said: “It as a premium feel to it. Nice controller.”

Some criticism has been levelled at it, however. “The controller, despite being an official product, is unable to turn on the Playstation, you instead have to turn on the PlayStation with a normal controller before swapping to the Nacon,” said one review. Another shared similar misgivings: “It works fine for what I want, except you can’t turn on your PS5 with it. Why is that? I don’t know.”
