With Sony turning its attention to the brand-new PlayStation 5 Pro, potential customers are surprised at the rumoured price which comes in a lot cheaper than expected.

With the console expected to release sometime this year, a new rumour has begun circulating and this time it is in relation to the Pro’s price point. As you can expect thanks to its impressive specs, many PlayStation fans assumed Sony’s latest model would be breaking the bank. However, according to leaker Moore’s Law is Dead, Sony could be selling thePlayStation 5Pro console without a disc drive for just $499.

Not only that but this could mean a price cut for the PlayStation 5 Slim which could see it retailed for anything from $449 to $399.
This is perhaps unsurprising considering much of the hardware is the same and soSonywould not have had to change too much between the original PlayStation 5 and the Pro. However, Moore’s Law is Dead claims there are a lot of factors that have gone into the upcoming price. This includes the company keeping an eye on Microsoft’s plans for the Xbox over the next year before it finalises a price.
As well as the disc drive-less edition, players will also be able to get their hands on one that includes the physical component. However, this is expected to cost around $549-599.
