If you’re someone who uses Discord onPlayStation 5, a major update is soon set to land that we’ve quite literally been begging for for an eternity.
It’s one I’ll be making use of given that I use Discord to chat with my pals during our regularFornitesessions.

That’ll soon change though as PlayStation has confirmed that you’ll soon be able to join a Discord voice chat directly from your PlayStation 5 console.
Announcing the feature, Sony revealed that over 290 million voice chats have been joined on PS5 via Discord, proving just how in-demand this feature is.

“Today, we’re pleased to share that we’re starting to roll out the ability for PS5 players to join Discord voice chat directly from the PS5 console, without relying on the Discord PC or mobile apps to initiate the connection,” Sony announced.

To join Discord, you’ll want to select the Discord tab from the Game Base in the PS5 Control Centre - the bar that appears when you press the PlayStation icon on your DualSense - and then navigate to the specific voice chat group.
This will show you who’s in the channel and give you the option to join. How simple and easy is that?
Just make sure that your PlayStation and Discord accounts are linked and that your PS5’s software is up to date.
The only downside is that this feature is being gradually rolled out.

Additionally, from next week, PlayStation 5 users will also be able to share their profiles via messaging and social apps, making it easier to connect with others via a QR code.
