PlayStation 5 owners are experiencing a major issue following the recent system update.
There’s been a lot of discourse surroundingPlayStationlately, though the majority of it has been regarding the now unveiled PS5 Pro.
Not only do its performance gains seem minimal, but its price and potentialmajor hidden costshave painted it in an unfavourable light as well (that’s putting it mildly).

Unfortunately, upset regarding some form of PlayStation hardware looks set to continue due to a game breaking issue with the PS5 system update.

User Argothaught took to Reddit to query a problem they’re having with their PS5 Slim. In their post they remarked on “disc verification errors”.
Although few responded suffering from the same issue, plenty of PS5 owners spoke of how broken the update is.
“Wtf happened with this update?”askedharleyquinad, “They started testing these features like a month ago in beta. How did none of these issues become found?”
To this, someone who tested the beta replied that “everything ran fine” before, which is why these issues are so “weird” now.

Another Redditor also criticised the system update saying, “This firmware update is f**ked. People are also getting visual glitches and crashes inFF16,Star Wars Outlaws, and some others that were fine before the firmware update.”
For the vast majority of gamers, it “feels like Sony and PlayStation are fumbling their sh*t this year”; those are HG21Reaper’s words, not ours.
Some players have even gone as far as suggesting it may be a way to encourage people to purchase the new PS5 Pro.
“Wow an update that f**ks up base PS5 right after Pro is announced… def didn’t see that coming,” one individual posted.

The longer game breaking faults continue, the worse it will get, yet solutions seem minimal.
