The newSonyupdate will see the option to alter brightness between bright, medium, and dim, with bright being the default setting. As someone who has light sensitive eyes, I welcome being able to avoid the blinding light of my console glaring at me.
Such a small feature but it’ll undoubtedly make such a big difference, leaving some wondering why it wasn’t introduced before now. After all, it’s not like it would have taken more for Sony to have implemented it sooner, but at least it’s making up for its past mistakes now. What is more, theXboxSeries has had this feature since launch, and it doesn’t put out nearly as much light as the PS5.
Hopefully, now that the PS5 has this quality-of-life improvement, it’ll stick around for the future for the PS6 and beyond. Given the importance of accessibility features, we certainly hope that this is the case.
With so much speculation swirling around in the games community, being able to have something that’s a fixed point to focus on is a welcome change of pace. How long it’ll last, though, is anyone’s guess.
