PlayStation 5 users urged to change one simple setting and double download speeds

If slow download speeds on your PlayStation 5 are getting you down, there’s a simple setting you can change to double those speeds, and because I’m so nice I’m going to reveal this super-simple-super-secret setting to you.

Now you’ve got better speeds, it’s time to check outMarvel’s Spider-Man 2!

To make the change even easier, it’s a good rule of thumb to disconnect and forget your current network details, thus allowing you to have a clean slate to work with. All you need to do is head into network settings on your PS5, select your internet connection, then choose to forget it.

Once you’ve done that, it’s just a case of rescanning and re-adding the network again, a process you’ll no doubt be familiar with after having to set up hotspots, use your mate’s wifi, or simply because your provider was down yet again and you had to improvise. After connecting to your network, select ‘options’ to change the frequency band to 5GHz. As much as I’d like to thinkXboxand PC fans aren’t all chuckling at PS5 players needing to do this, we all know how competitive the platform war gets.

Of course, while this will prove helpful to many PS players out there, please don’t be annoyed about still havingunderwhelming PS Plus gamesto play this month – that’s on Sony, not us. Unfortunately forSony, these quick fixes aren’t going to remedy the low interest fromPS Plussubs. Still, when there’s nothing but lacklustre options and outcomes, we have to take those victories where we can.
