PlayStation 5’s latest system update is being roasted by fans

If I had a nickel for every time GAMINGbible published a story regarding people’s exasperated fans responses toSony’ssystem updates, I’d have two nickels - which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happenedtwice in one day.

The PS5 system version24.05 updatedropped last night, and folks are already poking fun at Sony for how underwhelming it is.

That’s pretty much it as far as the specifics go. In regards to the non-specifics, Sony were also happy to share those as well.

Updates were listed for “system software performance and stability” and “wireless controller” stability, which apparently amused several PS5 players due to how inherently vague said improvements are.

Buried amongst all the sass was one interesting comment from one userin Korea.

The change, unlisted in the English patch notes for the update, noted that Korean players had suddenly started getting pinged every time they played for a certain amount of time: “Surely no one will notice since it’s Korea specific, but I received a system message while playing telling me to take a pause because I was playing for one hour. Wasn’t here before the update!”

Exactly why Sony silently rolled this update out for players in Korea specifically is currently undetermined, but it’s not the first time that such restrictions have been put onSouth Korean player’sgaming habits.
