Marvel and PlayStation fans rejoice, Marvel’s Wolverine has officially started active development at Insomniac.
While the majority ofInsomniac Gamesfans have been looking forward toMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, which swings onto the PlayStation 5 next month, many have been patiently waiting for news on anotherMarvelproject,Marvel’s Wolverine.

Teased during 2021’sPlayStationShowcase event with a brief cinematic, Marvel’s Wolverine will expand on Insomniac’s Marvel universe, as the game is reportedly set in the same world asMarvel’s Spider-Man.

We don’t know much about what the title will be about, apart from it being M-rated, and set sometimebefore Logan becomes a fully-fledged member of the X-Men.
Weirdly enough, the X-Men are some of the few Marvel heroes that weren’t referenced in some way duringMarvel’s Spider-Man, which featured subtle references to characters like Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, and more obvious ones like Dr Strange and The Avengers, as both of their homes can be visited in-game.
Mann shared a tweet earlier this weeksaying: “I can not wait for people to play #SpiderMan2PS5. Working on that game with so many amazing people was a lot of fun. However, today I get to start something new. #WolverinePS5.”

That was seemingly all that Mann was willing to share, but it’s exciting to know it’s finally in the works, even if it’s unclear what this means for its release date. In theory,Marvel’s Wolverinecould take less time to develop if it doesn’t include an open-world likeMarvel’s Spider-Man, though until we know for sure, or until Insomniac gives us a release date/window, we’ll have to keep guessing.
When it launches,Marvel’s Wolverinewill be released exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
