This conversation ignited after Kepler responded to Sony claiming that aPlayStation 5cost decrease is “very difficult” as it is “harder to grow profits as the life cycle goes on”. This is a result of the unit parts becoming more and more expensive as the console ages and so a price cut is highly unlikely even four years on.
Additionally,Microsofthas also revealed that its next Xbox unit will see its “largest technical leap” of all time so it will be no surprise if it also comes with an eye-watering price tag. However, both Sony and Microsoft are yet to comment on estimated prices.
In related news, PlayStation 6’s frame rates and specs were recently leaked and it is safe to say that users will be pretty satisfied. With Sony “currently aiming” for a consistent 60fps at 4K rendering and 30fps at 8K rendering on the upcomingPlayStation 5 Pro, we can expect the PlayStation 6 to almost double that when it releases sometime in the future.
