PlayStation 6 trademark filed by Sony alongside PS7, PS8, PS9, PS10

In what can only be described as one of the finest pieces of forward planning I’ve ever seen, Sony has gone ahead and filed trademarks for the PlayStation 6 all the way through to PlayStation 10.

ThePlayStation 5is barely halfway through its life, but clearlySonywould very much like to avoid a situation in which someone else nabs the naming rights to its next lot of consoles. As such, you can no longer lay claim to PS6, PS7, PS8, PS9, or PS10. PS11 may still up for grabs if you’re feeling frisky.Xbox, you have the opportunity to do something hilarious.

While we have no idea what the future holds for PlayStation over the next few decades, thePlayStation 6 has been all but confirmed at this stage.

However, official court documents releasesas part of the Activision Blizzard fight between Sony and Microsoft suggest a 2027 release date for the next PlayStation.

So, if we’re to believe the PlayStation 6 is coming in 2027, that means I’ll be enjoying the PlayStation 10 andThe Last Of Us Part VIIin a retirement home. I’ll only be 62, but I can’t imagine I’m going to age well.
