2025 is here and with it comes a lot of great PlayStation games, not just exclusives, but some wonderful third-party titles will be coming to the system too. This year is shaping up to be a good one for all consoles, but for PlayStation, it’ll be another banger for the fans.
There are literally hundreds of games to choose from, from indie darlings to million dollar blockbusters. With so many to choose from, it’s tough to trim the selection down to a list of 10 titles we’re looking forward to. However, there are some games coming which are simply too exciting to miss, so if you’re aPlayStationfan, be sure to keep an eye on these.

We’re big fans of Sucker Punch’sGhost of Tsushimaand have been anticipating a sequel for some time. Thankfully, we’ve now had a look at the follow-up, calledGhost of Yotei, which will be set 329 years after the events of the previous game. We’ll adventure in a new region of Japan, once again following a path of vengeance, this time taking control of Atsu. Developers have commented that we’ll have more control over narrative options in this sequel, and we’re sure it’ll arrive with plenty of gorgeous landscapes to explore and brutal combat to boot.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
Skydance, Plaion
WithMarvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, we’re going to get a chance to head back to World War II with Captain America and Black Panther for an all-out action-packed adventure, and hopefully lots of punching Nazis. Based on the comic book series Flags of Our Fathers, the game will put our two heroes in occupied Paris during the war. With a fewMarvelcameos here and there, this should shape up to be a rollicking good time with a great narrative arc running throughout.

The recent Like a Dragon games have been an utterly good time and pulled in many new fans due to the combination of heartfelt drama and bonkers silliness. The latest instalment is set to go over the top as theYakuzafolks go to Hawaii and end up looking for hidden treasure. This time following Goro Majima, the series will go back to its beat-em-up roots for the battles, but seemingly keep the madcap humour that fans love. This one sounds like a preposterous adventure not to be missed.
MGS Delta: Snake Eater
Konami
We’re going back toMetal Gear Solidthis year with a fully overhauled remake of the third game from the series,Snake Eater. Looking gorgeous, the 2004 classic has been lovingly recreated to give fans and newcomers a taste of Solid Snake’s missions. Regarded as the best part of the franchise, it’s great to know we can go back to the jungle for this prequel. We’re hoping that the interest in this release pushes Konami into making a brand-new entry in the franchise.

I onlyrecently finishedHideo Kojima’sDeath Strandingand while I consider it a flawed gem, my excitement for the sequel is growing immensely. Mostly because the world needs the bonkers moments Kojima keeps coming up with. My hope is that there will be less fighting and more walking in the sequel, but I’d be happy to just be back in this post-apocalyptic America. I’m cautious as to where the story is going to venture as the twists from the first game seem to paint it into a narrative corner, but I’m open to some more surreal and nutty plot points.

The heavy metal, crunchy, blood-spattered carnage is back.DOOM: The Dark Ageswill take out all the sci-fi leanings of the previous two games in the rebooted timeline and exchange them for a medieval setting. That means the DOOM-slayer is going to be crushing heads and tearing off limbs throughout a fantasy environment, acting as a prequel forDOOM. Of course, there will still be plenty of demons to shoot and bash, but we’re expecting more Viking metal than techno metal, this time around.
Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
Ubisoft
2025 will finally seeAssassin’s Creed Shadowsrelease after the long delay from 2024. Ubisoft will be taking us to ancient Japan with a story focused on two protagonists, but still featuring everything you know and love from the franchise. It’s fair to say that many are tempering their expectations after the delay, but the mixture of stealth action and fierce combat should still please those willing to give it a chance. Ubisoft has proven they can do world building and historical details, so it’ll be great to see how they tackle Japan.

GTA VI
Rockstar Games
The list couldn’t be complete withoutGTA VI. For millions, this will be the premier release of 2025, with no other games coming close. It’s certain to shake the industry to its very foundations and be a revolutionary game, if only for the impact it will make. We’ll be able to explore Vice City as Lucia and Jason, seeing the sights, pulling off crazy heists, and hopefully finding time to journey through a turbulent love story, too. All hyperbole will be thrown its way on release, and it’ll likely be warranted as Rockstar Games drops what many believe will be its masterpiece.
