The PlayStation Stars loyalty scheme has not been the smoothest of rides for members over recent years thanks to the service regularly going offline or just outright changing its rules on a whim.
Introduced as a way forPlayStation 4andPlayStation 5users to earn points which can later be exchanged for free store credit, you would think that signing up to the free scheme would be worthwhile.

However, that has not been the case recently.

Back in the summer, thePlayStationStars app unexpectedly went offline for a week before reappearing back online one day with no explanation as to what had happened.
Then just last month, users reported that PS Stars had removed the ability for users to redeem cash rewards with their hard-earned points.
Again, this came with no explanation and members found themselves with saved-up points and no way to grab any PSN credit.
This came not long afterSonyrevealed that it would be introducing a new policy that would see stored points expire after just 12 months, whereas before they would last for 24 months.

Additionally, members would no longer be able to earn points from subscription purchases such asPlayStation Plus.
Luckily, it seems as though one of these “policies” have recently been removed with users claiming that they can now access cash rewards once more.
We do not know if this feature being removed was intentional or not but it seems as though it is back either way.

The bad news is that the option to choose £10/$10 or £20/$20 cash cards are still unavailable for the majority of users.
It is unclear what Sony is doing when it comes to PlayStation Stars but at least it seems to be rolling back some of its more controversial changes.
