
Xbox may have dropped a fortune to acquire Actvision, but the upcoming beta forCall Of Duty: Modern Warfare IIIwill still be coming to PlayStation consoles first.
Great news if you’re a PlayStation fan, but not so great news if you’re onXbox. The official announcement forCall Of Duty: Modern Warfare IIIdropped last week, prompting mixed reactions from fans.

Many were excited to have a newCall Of Dutyon the way, whereas others were sceptical about whether it’ll be worth the price of a full game, especially since a lot of its content was originally planned to be DLC forModern Warfare II(2022).

In other news, there’s been increasing debate as to how long the Call Of Duty series will remain on multiple platforms. Xbox dropped a whopping $68.7 billion toacquire Activision Blizzard, and while the deal is still facing some pushback from certain countries, it’ll no doubt go through one way or another.
Xbox could potentially make Call Of Duty an Xbox exclusive if they wanted to, even though it’s repeatedly said it hasno plansto do so. Some believe that could be a decision that’ll come back to bite them in the future, especially since following recent leaks that claim the beta forModern Warfare IIIwill be available onPlayStationbefore it reaches Xbox.
The ad also went on to say the beta would only be accessible to those who’d preordered the game. No date for the beta was given, but it’ll likely be sometime in the next few weeks or months.

Not ideal for Xbox, especially after spending so much money on the game’s publisher, but once the deal gets finalised, they’ll likely be a few exclusive features or bonuses for players on Xbox platforms.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare IIIreleases on 10 November later this year for Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms.
