PlayStation Plus fans accidentally treated to bonus free games

There is a way to grab a couple of free games as a PlayStation Plus subscriber and it seems like an accidental treat on the part of Sony, so it’s worth grabbing these quickly.

DOOM: The Dark Ageslooks to carry on the gory boomer shooter joy

Essentially, there’s a bit of a bug (apparently) where PSN thinks you own the license toDOOMandDOOM IIEnhanced Editions because you’ve added the standard games to your console viaPlayStation Plus.

You’ll get the option the download these editions automatically. This is probably a bug involved with how PSN reads your data, so it could be fixed in a matter of hours.

Surely, if it was intentionalSonywould have advertised the fact that you can grab both versions of the classic games.

According to another Twitter user, this can also be done onNintendo Switch, so there’s a chance that this isn’t a bug, but an intentional system rarely talked about.

“Showed up free for me in the in-app store as someone who owns the originals. Same thing on Switch, FYI, but I had to go to the item page,”saidJustinLeeper_yo.

No matter the intention, it’s well worth grabbing these games, especially if you’ve never experienced the original DOOM titles.

Despite their age, they’re still very playable and a lot of fun. After all, blasting demons with devastating weapons never really gets old, does it?

If they older graphics don’t do it for you, don’t forget that the modern reboot is available on PlayStation Plus, too, and is a gory good time.
