PlayStation has confirmed the first free PlayStation Plus game of February 2024, and it’s something brand-new. No doubt some of you will still find something to complain about.
PlayStation Plussubscribers have been on something of a rollercoaster this last year. Between lacklustrefree games, not-so welcomeprice hikes,and other bonuses that ultimately have fallen flat, gamers are expecting more. It remains to be seen how this latest free offering goes down with the audience, but it looks like a good time to me.

For those who haven’t been followingFoamstarssince it was announced, it’s a third-person shooter that basically looks like aFortnite-themed foam party. Although judging from the positive previews I’ve read,Foamstarsis much better than I’ve just made it sound with that description.
PlayStationmade the announcement on social media, confirming thatFoamstarswill “headline” the February 2024 PlayStation Plus lineup when it launches 6 February. At the time of the writing the other two games have yet to be revealed.
It’s not often PlayStation drops a day-one release for PlayStation Plus subscribers, but it’s always great when they do. Previous examples includeSea Of Stars, Rocket League, andFall Guys, all of which are fantastic games. Let’s hopeFoamstarsis able to deliver a similar level of fun. We’ll find out for sure on 6 February, though I’m sure until then there’ll be plenty of complaining that PlayStation hasn’t addedGhost Of Tsushima 2andRed Dead Redemption 3to the monthly free games lineup. That’s how it usually goes.
