Depending on the tier that you subscribe to, PlayStation Plus offers a wide variety of games to choose from across many genres.
That being said, whether you subscribe toPS PlusEssential, PS Plus Extra or PS Plus Premium, you can’t always be guaranteed absolute bangers every month and it seems that is the case for some subscribers of the most recentPS Plus November 2023offerings.
Check out the Aliens: Fireteam Elite trailer below!
On 1 November,Sonyannounced the titles included in this month’s PS Plus Essential tier and let’s just say that it wasn’toverwhelmingly positive. So what’s the issue with the games included inPlayStationPlus Essential this month? Well, to put it bluntly, they’re a bit, meh. Albeit, what video games you may or may not like is totally subjective to the individual.

Included in the latest lineup isAliens: Fireteam Elite,Dragon Ball: The Breakersand finally,Mafia II: Definitive Edition. For starters,Aliens: Fireteam Eliteis an average three-play co-op shooter based on the movie franchise set roughly two decades afterAlien 3. OnMetacritic,Aliens: Fireteam Elitescored a decent 67. Sure it’s not poor, but it’s not great either.
As forMafia II: Definitive Edition, this is a remaster of the original game that was released in 2010. Unfortunately, this is a remaster of minimal effort that was plagued with bugs at launch. This is a shame because I quite liked this game when it was released 13 years ago. In case you’re wondering,Mafia II: Definitive Editionscored 56 on Metacritic for PS4.
It seems that PS Plus subscribers are so underwhelmed with the games offered this month, that some aren’t even bothering to download the new free games. At leastaccording to someon a Reddit forum.

“I will add to the library but I will not download any of them!” exclaimed MatsGry. “They can keep Them all!” said Just_Statistician556. “Aliens: Elite Fireteamis decent. I don’t think I’m even going to add the others to my library,” replied Sparescrewdriver. “Two of the three are online multiplayer? You can’t win ‘em all, I guess…” said a downbeat RxBrad.
At the end of the day, if you fancy trying any of these games, then give them a go, because you might be pleasantly surprised. HopefullyMafia II: Definitive Editionis in a better state now and perhapsAliens: Fireteam Elitewill be fun playing with friends, especially if you’re a fan of the movie franchise.
