Fans wereabsolutely livid, many of whom proclaimed that they’re done withSony’ssubscription service and will becancelling their memberships. This comes after several months of disappointment regarding the monthly free games not being of the quality fans expected, meaning the price increase just added insult to injury.

“Welp, time to wake up, go to work, come back and head directly to sleep… no more gaming,” added another, while one comment read, “Yeah just cancelled it … Obviously we did expect some increase due to the Turkish currency being down bad now but nobody expected this hike. Basically they killed the regional pricing with this increase. Games had already started doing it, all publishers will soon follow suit probably.”

Whether or not the price-hike sticks is another question, though it’s unlikely Sony plans on backing down. If that’s the case, players will just have to bite the bullet and pay a bit extra for the service’s game catalogues and online play.
