In mid October, the extra and premium tiers will gain their next batch of offerings but in the meantime, an updated version ofPayday 2has landed for extra tier users to … enjoy.

You can now find the newly launchedPayday 2: Crimewave Editionlisted on the extra tier’s ‘new in’ games but what should be an upgrade is far more of the opposite.
The purpose of theCrimewave Editionis to addPS5compatibility toPayday 2while fixing minor issues and removing “expired licensed content”, but it’s that latter point that’s causing a ruckus.
In removing expired licensed content, players can no longer access the game’sPoint Breakand John Wick collaborations.
This will also affect the game’s soundtrack which has been cut down.

If you already ownPayday 2, worry not. Your version won’t be affected or altered.
But if you choose to pick it up from now on, whether that’s from PlayStation Plus or the PS Store, it’s this altered and cutdown version that you’ll receive.
