PlayStation quietly releases new PS5 system update you can download now

Modern consoles are always receiving system updates to tweak various aspects of the technology. They come down the pipeline thick and fast.

This week,Sonyhas released a new system update for thePlayStation 5,which is ready and available for download right now.

PlayStation will soon be hosting a concert to celebrate the epic music from their games.

It’s not a big update in terms of function, though the file weighs in at over 1.3GB.

Of course, there are the usual improvements to console stability and performance, which we get every time.

There’s also a mention of “improved the messages and usability on some screens.”

Headlining the patch though is a change to the activity cards you’ll see on your dashboard.

“Activities now display as In Progress, Not Started, or Completed, depending on whether you have ever started or completed the activity.”

These cards still hide spoilers as always.

It’s a nice, new feature that will allow you to better track the activities you’re achieving in-game, if this is how you log them.

That’s it for this new PlayStation 5 update, but there will be more soon.

PlayStation is in the mood for remasters and remakes at the moment with the recent release ofUntil Dawn, which remade the original.

We’re also on the verge of gettingHorizon Zero Dawn Remastered, too.

Of course, you’ll get a huge benefit for these games if you using aPlayStation 5 Proconsole as this will really show off those tiny details and improvements.

Of course, this wave of remasters has sparked interesting conversations as to what fans want next. I’d like to see Sony dip further back into their catalogue for some retro PS2 classics.
