While nothing solid has been confirmed, Sony did release a statement saying they will be making announcements in May to inform players of their “long-term vision.”

Coming from PlayStation boss Hiroki Totoki, the message is still a bit cryptic, but it could point to us seeing a State of Play event or a PlayStation Showcase this month pointing to what’s ahead for this year.

There are several games that could appear at a showcase - Bungie’sMarathon, the remake ofUntil Dawn,Marvel’s Wolverine, to name a few. However, with us being so close to Summer Games Fest, it could be a more low-key showing.

Sony has plenty of developers under their wings and many of the big studios like Sucker Punch,Naughty Dog, and Guerilla Games working away on projects we may get a glimpse of what’s to come.

Given that Totoki himself has said that May is the month for updates on a “Long-term vision” this could be the time we finally see the much-rumouredPlayStation 5 Proconsole as this would fulfil the idea of ‘long-term’.
