However,Sonyis reportedly drawing up plans for its next console with a recent discovery uncovering a patent which would allow the PlayStation controller to feature a dedicated rewind button.
As we all learned to do with the VHS back in the day, activating the rewind button will bring up a video’s timeline which can then be played around with at will.

This will make clipping a whole lot easier than having to press the button in the middle of gameplay and instead you can worry about all of that once you have finished up playing for the day.
As Sony itself says, “accessing recent gameplay while the player is playing a video game is difficult”.
As well as helping with clipping, this new feature will also come in handy when players want to relisten to conversations that may have happened during certain moments in-game.
Did that NPC hint at the location for hidden treasure but you can’t remember where they said exactly? Utilising the rewind function will save you if your memory is anything like mine.

As it stands, this new Sony feature is merely a patent as of now so it may never fully come to fruition with the arrival of the PS6.
However, there is no denying that it would be a handy addition indeed.
