In terms ofPlayStationmascots that make a cameo inAstro Bot, you can expect the likes of Kratos fromGod of War, the Hunter fromBloodborne, Nathan Drake fromUnchartedand much more. All of these are met with nostalgic vibes that warm the heart, well, all apart from Polygon Man!
In case you didn’t know, Polygon Man was a mascot used in print marketing material in 1995 to help promote the release of the original PlayStation. It’s fair to say that this most 90s mascot ever didn’t go down well with the gaming community but perhaps no one hated this character more than the former global head of PlayStation, Ken Kutaragi.

Understandably, Polygon Man had been forgotten over time but thanks toAstro Bot, he’s now reemerged from the shadows to haunt us once more. “Polygon Man was the original American PlayStation mascot but literally everyone, including the father of PlayStation Ken Kutaragi, hated him,” tweeted GenePark.
“Was wondering what this character was. Can see why he didn’t quite take off as the mascot,” replied MaxMustardGame with many others mentioning that Polygon Man was also the villain in the forgotten brawler,PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
Astro Botis out now on PlayStation 5.
