Pocketpair CEO is ‘proud’ to see Palworld clones being made

It was only earlier this week thatPalworlddevelopers, Pocketpair, seemed to be annoyed atnew games ripping offits content. Yet now there’s been a slight shift in perspective, with its CEO reportedly “proud” of its influence.

Palworldhas had incredible highs and some bitter lows, with its player count nowalmost lostentirely. Still, from those ashes raises other games ready to venture into the monster catching world.

Palworldis still there, it’s just too busy being proud of its influence to worry about player numbers…

In a Twitter post,Palworld’s CEO Takuro Mizobe said, “I’m proud that other companies want to make games likePalworld."

“The industry historically innovates when we borrow ideas from games we love. I’m surprised that many high-quality mobile games are already in development,” they concluded.

Mizobe also wanted to make it clear that they’ve not “accused” anyone of copying content – “To ‘accuse’ someone of something, means to say they are doing something wrong. I don’t think what Tencent is doing is wrong.”

But if so many games are going to mimic one another, where does that leaveSteam’s once great title?

A recentPlayStation 5 official teasehas temporarily breathed new life intoPalworld, as would-be players cross their fingers in the hope the game will arrive on the platform.

There’s also news that anew mode we’ve been begging forwill also be added toPalworld. All in all, the future doesn’t seem quite as bleak as the decreased Steam numbers would have you believe.

The nextPalworldupdate is scheduled for Summer; until then, we can always entertain ourselves with other adventures if need be.
