Pokémon fans better hold onto their seats, because a new animation has officially been confirmed slated for release in 2027.

Pokémonanimation has had several iterations over the years. Of course, there’s the anime which has been running for over 1,300 episodes.

There are also the various films and mini-series that accompany that anime. It’s a franchise that is still going strong.

Details on the project are still kept under wraps for now, so we don’t even know if it’ll be a film or a series. The studio has emphasised its use of comedic storytelling will play an important role in crafting the project though.

“It’s a huge honour to be working with The Pokémon Company International,” says Sean Clarke, Managing Director of Aardman. “We feel sincerely privileged to be trusted with bringing their characters and world to life in a brand-new way.”

Aardman was founded in 1972, and has become known in the animation industry for its films and television shows that use claymation and stop motion techniques.
