Pokémon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlwere released for Nintendo Switch as a revisit to the classic games. The originals were released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS and fans had been begging for a remake.
Now, it seems, PC players may get a chance to play these twoPokémontitles running on their hardware.
Another stand-out Nintendo release is sure to be the new installment in the Legends of Zelda series.
Of course, these are unofficial projects as Nintendo doesn’t release PC games and sticks only to their own consoles but eager fans are trying to get the games up and running for a new audience.

Currently, modders are hard at work decompiling the games and, so far, they’ve managed to get each of them toboot up and start.
This comes from Team Luminescent, who are hoping this project is a stepping stone to bringing the 3D Pokémon games to PC.
There are no assets included here, everything must come from the original cartridge on the player’s side. This should ensure that Nintendo doesn’t drop a courtroom hammer on the team.

Because this goes beyond a regular ROMhack, it means that performance should be a lot more stable and, hopefully, run at the native settings of aNintendo Switch.
Interestingly, the team behind this idea is also working on a separate project calledRe: Illuminated Platinumwhich will bring players aPokémon Platinumexperience in the same vein ofBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearl.
This is one to keep an eye on if you’re a PC player who loves their Pokémon, but also the software created could prove very beneficial to indie developers and the modding community as a whole.
