Good news Pokémon fans, it seems that we might finally be gettingDetective Pikachu 2, according to a recent data leak.

“Ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son, Tim, to find out what happened,” reads the synopsis of the movie. “Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s formerPokémonpartner, wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuthDetective Pikachu.”

“Finding that they are uniquely equipped to work together, as Tim is the only human who can talk with Pikachu, they join forces to unravel the tangled mystery.”
Pokémon fans have been eager for a movie sequel toDetective Pikachuand those calls were answered in 2023 when production company Legendary Entertainmentofficially confirmedthat it was in development.

If those reports are true andDetective Pikachu 2has been in production since 2021, I’d like to think that neither Nintendo, The Pokémon Company nor Legendary Pictures would want to throw at least three years of hard work down the drain.
What’s more,Detective Pikachudid turn a profit making a reported $433 million at the box office from its budget of $150 million and if we know one thing about this world, it’s money talks.
Still, we should take all rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise but hopefully, we’ll get an official update on the progress ofDetective Pikachu 2soon. We’ll keep you posted when that information drops.
