Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewindhas been revealed at Summer Game Fest 2024, and it looks to be a retro throwback to beat ‘em ups from the NES and SNES era of video games.
The game appears to be taking heavy inspiration from classic titles such as the old side scrolling retroTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesbeat ‘em ups, which recently saw a resurgence with the release ofTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder’s Revenge. Interestingly, the game doesn’t appear to just be tapping into the nostalgia that people have for the beat ‘em up genre, but is also tapping into the nostalgia for the old racing levels that featured in the title, with the trailer showing off a ranger riding their way through a barren wasteland.

With absolutely beautiful pixel art graphics, and a cutscene artstyle that looks set to replicate the feel of the BOOM comics iteration of theMighty Morphin Power Rangers,it’s likely that the title will turn a lot of heads when it releases in late 2024, especially for people who enjoyed playing throughTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.
