The Prince of Persia franchise is a true OG of video game platformers. The series began in 1989 for the Apple II Series and for its time, it not only pushed the boundaries of gameplay in its genre, but it was also an impressive-looking game to boot.
Over the years, the series would evolve into something bigger and better, and with the first game under the Ubisoft umbrella,Prince of Persia: Sands of Timein 2003 was arguably the best game in the entire series with a Metacritic score of 92earning the‘Must-Play’ accolade.

However, there may finally be some positive news on the development progress of the remake becauseUbisoftsays that the newly polishedPrince of Persia: Sands of Timehas reached an important milestone.
Recently, the originalPrince of Persia: Sands of Timecelebrated its 20th anniversary and on Twitter, fans were welcomed to a vague, but positive update. “As you know, the passionate team at Ubisoft Montreal is reimagining this legendary story, and we are glad to announce today that the project has passed an important internal milestone and development is progressing,”tweetedthe official Prince of Persia account. “We look forward to sharing more in the future!”
At this time, we still do not have a release date forPrince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, but we do know that it will be released on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Hopefully, in the coming months, Ubisoft will reveal a new and improved gameplay trailer along with that elusive release date.
