PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users surprised with free game download, available now

Have you watched Prime Video’sSecret Level?

If not, I heartily recommend that you do. The anthology series isn’t exactly what you might call critically acclaimed, with many blasting the project as glorified marketing.

Personally, it’s for that reason that I loved it. Look, I know a lot about video games, but I don’t have my eyes on every title on the planet.

WatchingSecret Levelwas a bit like watching a shopping channel, with each featured game getting around 15-minutes to deliver me the hard sell.

And it worked. I enteredSecret Levelwith very little opinion onNew World: Aeternumand I left with an interest in checking the title out.

Well, how handy it is then that a newfree trialhas launched acrossPlayStation 5andXboxSeries X/S consoles.

Take a look at the trailer forSecret Levelwhich has just secured a season two renewal.

You’ll join a faction (Marauders, Syndicate, or Covenant), gather materials, build a base, expand your settlement, explore the game’s world, and defeat monsters.

The gimmick ofNew World: Aeternum, and this is what was explored inSecret Level, is that everyone on the island of Aeternum is immortal.

The fantasy island, located somewhere within the Atlantic Ocean, traps those who stumble upon it for eternity.

There’s no way out, so you best get to building a comfortable empire to reside in.

The game launched onPCback in 2021, but a console release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S only followed in October of this year.

Now, following the debut of theSecret Levelepisode, Amazon Games has launched a free trial across those two aforementioned console platforms, granting users access to a slice of the action.

It’s a pretty generous free trial, totalling around four-hours which should be plenty of time to see if this one’s for you.

If you do enjoy what you play, progress will carry over into the full release should you purchase it, which retails at £34.99.

The only caveat here is that this is an online game, so you’ll need a PS Plus Essential or Game Pass Core membership to access your console’s online functionalities.
