Sadly, despite pleas from fans, there has beenno free new-gen updateon PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S that would give the framerate a boost from 30fps to 60fps. Knowing Rockstar Games, if that was to happen,Red Dead Redemption 2would probably be re-released at full price.

However, if you playRed Dead Redemption 2on PC, you can take advantage ofmodsthat will not only make this gorgeous game look better than ever but will also add new content to the game, such as the mod that is the topic of today’s article.

“This mod introduces dynamic ambush encounters across various regions in the game world, including - West Grizzlies, West-Elizabeth, Big Valley, Heartlands, Cumberland, Lemoyne and Roanoke Ridge,” reads its description.

The ‘Ambush’ mod will result in NPCs randomly appearing in the wild to rob you of all your possessions, that’s unless you successfully shoot them in the forehead, of course. In total, these encounters will occur across 52 randomised locations to help keep you on your toes.

As with the nature of most mods, ‘Ambush’ is only compatible with the PC version ofRed Dead Redemption 2. Nonetheless, the game is still incredible on consoles without mods, so you need not worry.
