Forget about Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series (I love you really), for me, it’s mostly about its iconic western Red Dead series.Even since the arrival ofRed Dead Revolverin 2004 for the PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox, it let me live the wild west Clint Eastwood fantasy like never before. That was untilRed Dead Redemptionwas released in 2010. It has a vast open world with engaging stories, interesting characters, fun side activities and much more. ThenRed Dead Redemption 2came along in 2018 and topped both of its predecessors! Hey Rockstar Games, can we haveRed Dead Redemption 3already, please?Check out the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer below!Despite carrying the number two in its name,Red Dead Redemption 2is a prequel to the 2010 game and stars Arthur Morgan, a leading member of the Dutch van der Linde gang. I won’t say too much about its story, because if for whatever reason you’ve not played either of the two Red Dead Redemption games, you need to change that at the earliest opportunity.AdvertWhat I will say aboutRed Dead Redemption 2aside from its compelling story, talented cast of actors and huge open world is that it looks gorgeous, even when playing onPlayStation4 andXboxOne. Sadly however, despite releasing in 2018 and being a few years into this current console generation,Rockstar Gamesappears reluctant to release a new-gen 4K/60fps patch for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. While I wouldn’t count on that patch being deployed anytime soon, a modder onPChas taken matters into their own hands. The ‘60FPS MOD’ in question is available nowviaNexusmods from DonBenjamin and it does exactly what it says on the tin and turnsRed Dead Redemption 2into a smoother playing experience. Best of all, this mod is totally free. The modder says that the internal files of the game have been changed to achieve 60fps, something that apparently “Rockstar Games will not do”.It would be nice if Rockstar Games were to release an official patch forRed Dead Redemption 2one day, even if it’s just to achieve 60fps, but I won’t be holding my breath waiting for that to happen anytime soon. Knowing Rockstar Games, it will probably just re-release the game and charge a premium for the luxury even if we already own the original game.Red Dead Redemption 2is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.Featured Image Credit: Rockstar GamesTopics:Red Dead Redemption,Red Dead Redemption 2,Rockstar Games,Mods,PC,PlayStation,Xbox
