Red Dead Redemption 2 just landed on the last platform we’d expected

Red Dead Redemption 2is an impossibly vast game with an incredible level of detail put into every inch of its huge open world.

To this day, fans believe there really hasn’t been a game that has matchedRed Dead Redemption 2’s open world, both in terms ofoverall scope and visual splendour. The fact Rockstar Games got it running onPlayStation 4 and Xbox Oneis nothing short of magic… which is why I’m amazed the game has now managed to get up and running on the last platform you’d have expected.

Okay, so it’s far from perfect. The frame-rate is choppy at best, and there are a few visual glitches. But the fact Pavlov was able to get this running at all without the phone exploding is nothing short of remarkable.

I would imagine running the game for more than 10-20 minutes at a time would be impossible, however. It seems like things would heat up pretty quickly. I guess you could try playing with oven gloves and safety goggles, but that sounds less than ideal.

“Bud That ain’t a phone..that’s a time bomb,” remarked one fan on Twitter.

Another added: “This is actually extremely impressive when you consider that 1. It’s running on a windows layer

  1. This game is an x86 program and I highly doubt this phone has hardware to make translating x86 to arm faster It could actually maybe be playable if they did a proper port.”
