This brings us to a detail about the game’s horses that you might not have known, and no we’re not talking about thetesticles that shrivel up in the cold, though that’s also an impressive detail to be fair.

Now we’re talking about taking care of your horse, which actually involves more than slapping on a decent saddle and making sure you don’t lead it off a cliff or accidentally shoot it in a chase.

User Alex_214465 said they’d never bothered to check the game’s horse panel, and was shocked to discover it said “malnourished.”

Other players were just as shocked as they were, with many also not noticing the horse’s condition outside of its stamina. Turns out NPCs will comment on your horse’s health, so listen out to that while you play.

Fear not though, one player offered an easy fix for the problem as merely resting at a camp for a day or two and allowing your horse to graze should keep it happy and healthy.

Yet another secretRed Dead Redemption 2feature we’re only just learning, but it’s a good job we did otherwise many will have gone on to mistreat their horse without even realising something was wrong.
