Despite recent reports thatGrand Theft Auto VIwill be “lightyears ahead” on graphics thanRed Dead Redemption 2,there is no denying that Rockstar Games don’t skimp when it comes to how its titles look. Originally released in 2018, theRed Dead Redemptionsequel takes place in an 1899 interpretation of the United States. In a land filled with gunslingers, saloons and bayous, it manages to be one of the most beautiful video games of all time.

“Can’t believe this game is about to have its 5-year anniversary,”saidone user on r/redeadredemption2. “The graphics hold up unbelievably well”. They accompanied their praise with a small slideshow showing some images captured from the game. Capturing the game’s rocky mountains, misty sunrises over the lakes and views from the highest points, the point is really hammered home.

It remains to be seen ifRDR2’sgraphics will still hold up in another five years but for now, it is still a title to beat.
